A counsellor travels the Acadian Peninsula from Neguac to Miscou to help women break free from the cycle of violence. This counsellor offers financial, legal, and social support. This service is available to all women who are victims of violence and:

  • Don’t need immediate protection for themselves and/or their children, but are looking for help to talk about their experiences, untangle their feelings, receive information on the various services available, and be directed to the appropriate resources.
  • Need support and help in crisis situations and/or support in making choices and active listening.
  • Want occasional support or regular follow-up to come up with informed solutions that will improve their daily lives and those of their children.
  • Need support with their appointments: lawyers, income assistance, Child Protection, housing, justice, public safety, etc.
  • Wish to be referred to group therapy or individual counselling.
  • Need follow-up after leaving the residential home.

It is not required of women to have stayed at the guest house (L’Accueil Sainte-Famille Inc.) to benefit from this service.
